Chaplains and Sector Ministers work on the front line of mission around our diocese in workplaces, hospitals, prisons, places of education (schools, colleges and Universities) and among the men and women of the armed forces.
Some Chaplains are directly resourced by the diocese, and overseen through the Communities and Partnerships framework; others answer to the institutions where they work, or to national bodies.
Chaplains are religious representatives and, as they are often attached to secular institutions, they may aim to help meet the spiritual needs of people of all faiths and none.
In ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½Ò•îl, chaplains are lay and ordained, employed and volunteer, and serve in a wide variety of settings, including:
- Hospitals
- Hospices
- Higher education
- Schools
- The armed forces
- The police force
