The Very Revd Robert Key will relinquish his appointment as Dean of Jersey in February. The Very Reverend Robert Key, Dean of the Bailiwick of Jersey, has received Her Majesty’s permission allowing him to relinquish his appointment as Dean on 28 February  2017.

Dean Bob will become part of the Archbishops’ Evangelism Task Group helping as an advocate between Cathedrals and larger churches for the beacon events as part of the national initiative “Thy Kingdom Come 2017.” He will also be taking up an invitation from the Bishop of Bath & Wells to be part of the team taking forward that Diocese’s new strategy for mission and evangelism.

The Rt Revd Trevor Willmott, Bishop of Dover, said: “While I’m sorry that Bob and Daphne will be leaving our immediate fellowship, I’m delighted that his particular gifts in evangelism will continue to be available both in the wider life of our Church in the UK and within the Diocese of Bath & Wells. During his time in Jersey, he has been instrumental in helping to build the confidence of our Church, both in its witness and service of the wider community. We are all deeply grateful for all that Bob and Daphne have given so generously of themselves in the support and encouragement of others. We thank God for their ministry among us and commend them to the continuing love and faithfulness of God.”
