After three years as the Chair of the Diocesan Board of Finance, Peter Wyllie has decided to step back. He said: ‘As we now have new appointments in the two crucial roles of Diocesan Secretary and ÎÚÑ»´«Ã½Ò•îl of Finance, I feel it is a good moment for a new Chair to come in and start afresh with a renewed team.

‘Having participated in the hiring process for both roles, and knowing the existing team, I have utmost faith in the ability and future success of this new combination of talents. I have immensely valued the experience of working with the Diocese for the past three years.’

Diocesan Secretary, Stephen Taylor, said: ‘We are so grateful to Peter for the time that he dedicated to the Diocese of Canterbury and for his oversight in the past few years when there has been much change in the church. We wish him well for the future and wherever he turns his time and talents to next.’

Tony Richter will step up from Deputy-Chair to Interim Chair for the next few months. Recruitment for a new Chair will begin once the new Diocesan Secretary, Iain Blythe begins his role in April 2024. Tony said: 'I'd like to echo Stephen’s thanks to Peter for all that he has given to the Board of Finance during his term of office. I look forward to carrying on his good works as we enter the new year, ensuring a smooth transition to the new team as it comes together this Spring.'
