The Admission and Licensing of Readers service will take place on Sunday 20 September, and this year it’s gone online.
The annual celebration welcomes those called to ministry and who will serve in the name of Christ and his Church.
The Bishop of Dover, the Rt Revd Rose Hudson-Wilkin, will preside over the service that will see the admission and licensing of seven new Readers and the re-licensing of two more.
They are: Margaret Bowers, Dover deanery; Ann Harrison, North Downs deanery; Isobel Legg, Reculver deanery; Anne Loat, Romney and Tenterden deanery; Sharon Paine, Elham deanery ; Peter Roberts, North Downs deanery and Graham Snellin, Dover deanery.
June Noakes, Romney and Tenterden deanery and Nicholas Tomaszewski, Sandwich deanery, will be welcomed and re-licensed.
Warden of Readers, Nigel Collins, said: “This is always a very special service as we join together to celebrate with those called to ministry.
“It’s always great to see our new Readers embark on the next stage of their journey. They all have a real passion for ministry and I know each of them will bring so much to each of their deaneries.”
